Biography

Guy W. Bluff has more than 30 years experience in the area of construction claims preparation and defense. More than twenty-five years as a civil trial lawyer specializing in practice before the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and Arizona Superior and Federal District Courts, in the areas of trial practice, construction, engineering, surety law, and government / public works contract law as well as general business law. Mr. Bluff has been involved in more than 2,000 construction related disputes and claims ranging to in excess of $15,000,000. He represents public and private owners, general and specialty contractors, subcontractors, materialmen, engineers, architects and sureties in all aspects of construction related disputes and complex construction and commercial litigation. Has also prosecuted and/or defended over 40 bid protest / bid mistake disputes. Since 1972, Mr. Bluff was directly involved in the construction industry as a laborer, equipment operator, foreman, and project engineer. He is an owner and principal of a mid-size general engineering contracting firm working through the Southwest. A prolific speaker and author and has appeared before more than 100 different courts and administrative tribunals throughout the western states and Washington, DC. He authors and teaches a number of seminars each year on construction and law related topics.In addition to his practice as an attorney, for the past 30+ years, Mr. Bluff has been at the leading edge of computers and technology. He is the author, developer and holds several federal Copyrights for a complex computer program for automating document management in law firms and publishes through his company the online legal document management software Docket-Online.
